The cares act unfortunately saved lots of worthless universities that should have gone belly up during COVID. A complete waste of taxpayer $$$ to simply prolong the agony by a few years.
@2wco+1hmArHul Population trends, for one. There aren't enough young people to support all the bloated colleges in this country. In my state there is talk of several formerly large universities closing their doors for good. Expect this trend to continue.
@2wco+1hmArHul The 80s-90s called. They want you back. No one wants to spend time in school in todays world….other than the rich and privileged.
Why would enrollments tank? whenever there's a recession the goons go back to school for 'retraining' etc.
When I started at Thomson we had a really great QA team that were mostly contractors right in Boston. It was great because a quick face to face could replicate or resolve anything.
Then we went to India and less and less stateside people. The big problem I always had was the time to turn around and resolve bugs. Just from a time zone perspective you're losing four or five days in the cycle.
Shame. I haven't been at CL for about five years but the SQA team was already pretty small.
The earnings weren’t great. Cengage earns less revenue and profit than it did 3 years ago. And enrollments are about to fall of a cliff.
Pajeets do it for 80% less.
