For the person who said that I am the reason why Support staff get a bad rap ARE the reason why we do. They are the people who don't do their fair share of work. Come back to the dock sweetheart and unload a truck in 90 degree heat or in 20 cold. Then put it out move the floor around and wait on customers because you are too busy putting go backs in the wrong place. Boo Hoo it sucks to be you . Do your job and let me do mine.

So true. The sales people are just dumping to get rid of the rods. They can’t even put the fitting room away in the right department to begin with or tell the difference between mens and womens jeans. They can’t even sign correctly but they know how to take signs down correctly
BRING BACK TRUE MERCHANDISERS!
The merchandising has gone way downhill in my store.
Some associates don’t care where the clothes land they just want to get the merch on the floor…they don’t care if they are putting petites sizes in missy areas…they don’t care if they are following the merchandise execution guide. They don’t care to look at the group names on the tag…. Let’s face it! Some people simply DO NOT CARE!
Heck I’ve even seen kids active on the missy active floor!
Our shoe department is embarrassing…dusty table tops with 30 pairs of shoes on one single table…
Home store is a joke. Even that isn’t merchandised correctly…how id--t proof could it be! It’s mostly replenishment with the occasional new products.
I work in a high volume store and I will admit we do have the staff and support that I know for a fact smaller stores do not and we still look a mess!!! It’s insane.
That’s my little rant.
Phew I feel a little better.
In case anyone ever wondered why support associates get a bad rap, look no further than "Support Diva."
At my store we have sales associates pretending to be managers and telling support associates what they should do(ahh hello unless you have a red badge you are not TELLING ME HOW TO DO MY JOB REGISTER JOCKEY!!!) I ve already had their BS up to here. My schedule was supposed to be fair in one week 3nights one mid one morning shift yeah thats fair. There are only two of us from support whi are working night shifts everyone else got a pass. The two are long term support who are near retirement and have no where to go. So much for integrated if you kiss enough a-s you can get your schedule changed and sc--w everyone else over!!!
So many people that ring call out so anyone that can ring ends up on a register and not doing the support assigned support task...so same old same old
Will ISM change the old style of the stores, the old equipment we use, the old brands that we sell, and the unnecessary extended hours that we have to work?
Responding to the comments about support associate be AWOL. I am support associate first our schedule changed we have tasks already assigned to us for the day. The last 2 days I have been doing saling, fullifullment and do new receipts and floor moves and fitting room and helping customers on the sales floor. All of support in my store are doing this.
Two days in and total unmitigated disaster. People come in early for pricing and no pricing captain or manager there to set them up. Sales associates assigned to recovery immediately refused to ring at the register. Support associates completely AWOL.
It makes no sense
The managers have no clue and it’s a complete shitshow
Used to be a good place to work, now it’s a place to go, do your job, not give a f**k and go home
Maybe it's best that the stores are "not ready". Nothing will change as long as we all put on the dog and pony show for the powers that be. They should see all the warts and fu---s. We can all continue to dance in place as fast as possible, but until Macys hires managers who know how to manage without fear, and more qualified staff who are paid a decent wage (and I don't mean minimum wage) and reward their long-time staff with real raises (and eliminate the "wage caps") we will continue to tread water in the sewage.
After two days of this new program, the store looks the same, the amount of rails to go back is about the same, the focus on credit and sales is the same, and the amount of workers is the same. One difference is how the walk report looks on paper. Managers still move people around each day because of callouts and coverage and how to best achieve sales and credit goals.
My store has gotten worse. The fitting room rods are out of control. The sales floor you can’t even see the fixtures clothes are thrown on top of them. Clothes are left everywhere. Sales people are just standing behind the register went for customers not even recovering when they is nobody around. And we have a deep dive tomorrow and the regional team next week. The store is not ready
