Thread regarding Marathon Oil Corp. layoffs

This is where I started to hate my job

Management is awful. People are leaving because of bad management. This is no complaint, this is bitter criticism. I’m certainly not the only one who has started to hate her job here, precisely because of poor management. Will bad management ever change? I don't think so.

Getting laid off was the best thing that ever happened to me. I used to view this site in te---r and now it’s pure entertainment. I love seeing all the sad soles in torment.

All joking aside, there are so many better companies than MRO. Do your self a favor and leave. My mental health has done a complete 180 and I’ve never been happier.

It will not change. Look at queen K in Land, just awful leadership. But hey, at least she checks a couple of boxes for us.

I was so miserable at Marathon. Working elsewhere has been a major improvement for my physical and mental health. Terrible culture.

I HATE working here sooooo BAD, but I’m stuck due to a contract I can’t back out of! This is by far the worst place I have ever worked. If you love yourself DO NOT come to work here. STAY AWAY!!!!!! I’m miserable and I have made my manager aware, she cares, but she is just as miserable and knows there is no way to change this terrible culture. It’s so SAD, to want to work on a team and be successful, but it’s all about power and back stabbing here, not team work. MRO will chew you up and sp-t you out!

When MRO was all I ever knew I always believed that the way they operated was similar to the rest of industry. I’ve now been out for a while in the private space and I love it, but everyone I work with who left similar (small, public, domestic shale) companies has stories that sound identical to the misery of MRO. Those who say the grass isn’t greener didn’t do a great job evaluating the other grass out there.
