Special severance for near retirement employees?

Anyone hear of a situation, lately, where severance was offered for employees nearing retirement. I'm talking about those cases where an employee has been employed for 30+ years? I guess you could just wait for the next package that may be around the corner but this place is just awful now that the wait may not be worth it. I seem to recall that some 30+ year employees were approached by managers with such an offer. Am I wrong?

$500k total comp is phenomenal. Must be LG B or SEG to get near that. If I were making that, as long as I was doing something ethical and legal, I'd just hold off til the next package.

They can’t offer a package to individuals. It has to be offered to groups of people.

I am the same … is there any way to get onto the severance list, or 99 job?

I did not fully appreciate the complete BS that has happened since Reshape. Lack of any resources, direction towards less profitable green projects, D&I wokeness. It has just become worse in my opinion or maybe I did not want to give up a comp package of $500K but I am now.
