Thread regarding BNSF Railway layoffs

What Will Happen

Wonder what will happen if BNSF doesn't address the pay issues and attendance policy. Seems to me that BNSF leadership are ignorant to treating people like human beings. The economic struggle is real for many, but where do we draw the line?

Really a shame how low this company has descended. BNSF used to be the best class 1 to work for. Now it seems that the executives have forgotten who does the heavy lifting. Boots on the ground ensures that everyone in this company gets paid. Record profits and still no contract and wage increases! Only 2 years ago we were "essential" workers. Now they consider us good as garbage. Will the union leadership finally grow a pair and organize a strike? Or are they in bed with the execs? $$$

You are already seeing the effects. BNSF is placing an embargo on westbound traffic on the southern transcon because the network is overwhelmed. They can point the finger at whoever they want; but the fact of the matter is they don't have enough people to run the place anymore. To top it off, vacation season is about to get into full swing.

BNSF is secretly loving the mass quitting of employees. All that's going to do is give them a legitimate reason to hire scab companies to do the mow, carman, b&b, and round house work. And clears the path for 1 man crews.
They aren't going to settle on a contract that benefits the workers unless the government makes them. Then they'll probably layoff more.

Been seeing the same problems at UPRR . New hires quitting. Ptc still has some problems , not reliable enough to run 1 man crews yet.

All class ones are foaming at the mouth for One man crews. Pay will deffennitly have to increase to even keep the manpower we have no. The bad is outweighing the good lately with railroad jobs. Unions need to fight for a decent contract. Union due paying employees disappear so will the Unions.

People will continue to resign and new hires won’t last. This is all on purpose to get one man crews.
