A number of people with 30+ years of tenure were laid off. I guess loyalty means nothing to Blackbaud not to mention the loss of knowledge and experience

So true. And so sad. It could have been handled much better.
Unfortunately those with the highest tenure are also usually among the most highly compensated. And yes, it's a shame when they have to go there, but sometimes they do. When you can lay off 20 instead of 50, and achieve the same financial goals... sometimes you have to go that way.
