Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

High attrition

A lot of employees are leaving and the others are seriously planning to leave. Since I haven't been here for a long time, I'm wondering if there was a period before when the attrition was maybe even bigger than it is now?

"The atrition rate of Infrastructure Planning is ZERO Percent. Enbridge is holding on to it's key talent just fine it seems"

Infrastructure Planning does not exist. Hence the 0% attrition rate and zero value reply.

I would agree that the whole industry is in it's late stages. It's not just Enbridge. None of these companies are stable long term.

However, you don't need the best and brightest to keep a company like Enbridge in "maintenance mode". You don't need to be innovative when nobody else can build pipe. You just need "good enough". And that's fine.

The best can scatter to the far winds. The company will persist just fine.

It's been interesting to watch. Companies that are proactive and quick to adjust their compensation and benefits to suit the current labor market are having a great time scooping up talent from dinosaurs like ENB.

I think what happening is that ENB knows that it's doomed long/medium term. Believe it or not, but oil and gas is on the outs. The heat waves, droughts and wild fires of late has brought the reality of climate change to billions of peoples front door. When you had to move to a new town because of a drought//wild fire/heat wave, you are taking a giant leap towards realizing that companies like ENB are helping to destroy our future.

ENB doesn't care that their talent is being stolen and their company is eroding, because they know they're doomed. As long as they can keep making cuts and padding quarterly numbers, holding onto talent is not a priority.

I too been here a long duration but many years of UG. Enbridge gives no sense of value or worth to the employees.
Just stunning how morale is nonexistent and literally no one on the front line gives a $hit any longer.
Great culture shift to push people off to other companies

I have been at ENB for 16 years (spectra prior to the merger) and we lost 2 great resources because they couldn't get a full time role. There is all these hiring freezes but we can get sub par resources with managed services. It's a revolving door that I can't for the life of me understand how it saves the company money. I do see what we pay for managed services and it's 2 to 3x my wage including burden.

Outsourcing is not an effective model long term
