Hired like crazy, rode the remote working wave of Covid, and didn't focus on go-to-market. When you are flying high it's then you should be razor focused on expanding and using marketing and sales to their greatest impact...instead of victory lapping over the (inflated) stock price and angling for more headcount.
“As you all know, we are committed to becoming an Anti-Racist/Anti-Oppression company. Layoffs like this can have a more pronounced impact on marginalized communities, so we were particularly focused on ensuring our layoffs – while a business necessity today – were carried out through an Anti-Racist/Anti-Oppression lens“
I was approached by this company. Had two rounds of interviews and was subsequently cut. Was approached two more times to start the interview process again with different teams, but politely declined as my gut feeling was telling me to stay away. The above statement confirms my decision. No amount of sugar coating can hide what the CEO is actually saying which is Americans of European descent are prioritized for layoffs while those of African or Latino descent are given a pass. I truly hope they are sued into oblivion.
We do know the process was Anti-Racist because the CEO said so. Law suit time!!

Cuts!!! 11% of company. Should stop giving new hires ridiculous stock comp packages. The chickens have come home to roost.
