If your not asking questions or watching the videos, YOU REALLY NEED TO!!! Communication from your Stote Manager to the Executive team needs to happen NOW!!! This "new format" just doen't make sense and is going to ruin the livelyhood of employees that have given soo much to a company they have loved. MACY'S , YOU ARE SOO MUCH BETTER THAN THIS!!! YOU WERE A GREAT COMPANY TO WORK FOR, AND YOU CAN BECOME THAT AGAIN, STOP LISTENING TO "analyst" AND LISTEN TO YOUR CUSTOMERS AND LONGTIME EMPLOYEES!!!

In my store today, the ISM plan changed because we had several callouts and therefore, most associates were working where they usually work. Also, managers didn’t want it to be too different because they were concerned about making credit and sales goals.
Day one in my store. Sales colleagues were placed out of comfort zone standing behind register all day not helping to recover the floors. Sales colleagues who had selling floor support were doing fitting room and recovering and ringing . Support was going fitting room rods all day and cleaning out the fitting rooms stalls. A lot of people didn’t look happy especially reading their assignments
For those of you who got through day 1 of ISM and lived to tell about it- please share.
Day one of ISM and two people quit already….. Best selling module ever!
Way to go JG and your cast of clowns 🤡
HA HA HA
By reading all this stories going on around the company is unbelievable. Macy's ISM is a train wreck waiting to happen.
LOL, those videos were so lame. I nodded off to a few of them, when it came to taking the “test” if I didn’t get a 100% I kept retaking it until it said I received a 100%. Ohhh and the part where there were “tasks” like walking the floor with your mgr. to see and get a hands on feel for it. Yeeeah riiiight, I just clicked the box that we did it. No one has time for that!
My store is a union store so ISM isn’t yet implemented and I’m telling you it never will. The union will not agree with it or it will take a couple of years and by then it will be something new.
Next to no cross-training in our store. No one at the helm. No information. Many being told to just go to executive office and "sign off" that you completed the ISM training steps -even if you had not done so. 160 rods of go-backs on one floor alone. No spare rods to unpack the stuff on the loading dock. No garment bags-stuffing $300 gowns into paper shopping bags. Morale in the toilet. Angry staff and angry customers. Can anyone else identify?
ISM is working so well in our store that they are advertising for “Bring a Friend to Work Day” 😂🤣😂🤣
People are dropping like flies, they are paying overtime and they still cannot get people to work here. 😂🤣😂🤣
If it is this bad in June what is going to happen come November and December? 😂🤣😂🤣
Macy’s senior management did a stellar job developing ISM!
As I've been following the stories pertaining to ISM, I was aware of the program prior to the official announcement. It seemed the store manager wasn't fully informed as she explained what was about to happen. There was a chill in the air as she asked the employees: "Any questions?" Soon after the store went about the task of remerchandising every area according to the new standard. However, I noticed that it was primarily being done by support associates. A few managers assisted and there were some salespeople as well, but I didn't get the sense that anything would have been accomplished without support. One of our long term managers worked through the transition but then he retired as planned. He had devoted thirty-five years to the company and though not one to complain, I sensed there were unstated reasons for his decision. Already, his departure has left a ho-e in the management team, as there were many procedures which only he knew how to do. I've asked numerous times if we're ready to proceed this Sunday only to be told: "Why do you ask?" We'll see... Thankfully, I'm retired and have been for five years, but have chosen to return on a part time basis. I've even switched from visual to fulfillment as I can sense that's where the future is. I enjoy working and especially with many of our associates, but I can sense a disaster brewing.
Our store in South Texas is 45 years old both escalators and the elevator hasn't been working for almost 6 months. Walking up and down the stairs is brutal for the employees and customers especially for the elderly. It is true with or without ISM, our store is locate at a old mall. Ever since the company install the ISM last year, it has been a disaster. Long tenured employees already quit and new employees are calling out constantly because of the workload. The mall in our location is losing alot of retail stores, now the mall is becoming a entertainment center. This coming fall the mall is adding a Ojos Locos Sports Bar and it's going to be locate next to Macy's. Now we have to deal with drunk customers when football season starts. ISM hasn't solve any problems in our store it just adding more and more problems.
With or without ISM, most of the stores are in old malls, have an old department style layout, old registers and old brands.
No you got it all wrong... its a perfect design to get people who been there too long to be railroaded out of the company... take your macys goggles off and smell the coffee !
Every Sundays is markdowns so be ready folks.
Only handful of colleagues saw videos how to merchandise and the signing team saw how to do markdowns. The support was never trained for register
Wait how didn't they tell you when they were required to have you do training videos and sign-offs??
Get ready to read the boards at the employee entrance before you can even clock in! If a manager calls out, there won’t be anything put up! Who knows where to go?
My store didn’t communicated anything with us. When we all saw the schedule between support and sales everyone is confused. The managers didn’t say anything. We will see how it goes on Sunday when we see the board with our names on it and assignments for week. Good luck everyone. He-l is about to beginning
Ah yes, the Sears business plan strikes again.
