Expecting an offer for a pricing role

Have just gone through all rounds of interviews and expect to get an offer for the pricing role for the EUC business.
I’m an external hire and potential total comp increase for me is more than 2x.
I’m young and less risk averse in general
What’s your take on the chances of this role surviving for the next 1-2 years?

Congratulations on getting what sounds like a great role! I agree with the other responses - what's the worst that can happen? Regardless of what happens, you'll have a great role to list on your resume, and will have a legitimately increased salary to be benchmarking against when it comes to securing your next role. Good luck!

I say join and let it ride. Either you get let go or you don't. I doubt they are going to let everyone go day 1 because then the business wouldn't be able to run.

Most important question. Will you be working from home? You have a 90% chance of being cut in a role like this, as Broadcom will say “you don’t really have experience in the role so we won’t need you”. Anyone that is typically hired in the last 1 year that is not an Engineer is cut. If you are being offered the role as a WFH, you have 110% chance of being cut. Either way, it won’t happen until November at the earliest, so some career advice, take the job, you will now be in the market at a higher salary. When you are looking for a job and a recruiter asks “Why did you accept a job knowing it would be cut” you can answer and say the manager told you the job wouldn’t be cut, and they lied to you. If you truly are risk averse, don’t accept the offer.

you'll be one of the first to be let go. or they might rescind offer. who knows. either way, roll the dice and enjoy the ride.
