V22 is conceptionally an engineering marvel. However, helicopters are inherently far less safe than fixed wing aircraft and much more expensive to operate...and V22 is far worse than helicopters in this regard.

As a wannabe flier myself, I have always thought the V-22 was an engineering marvel. But I don't want to ride in it.

Surprised V22 has remained in service this long given its long term poor safety record. I suspect same will be said for 737Max.

The competition for the next Generation helicopter Between Boeing and Bell helicopter and between Sikorsky and Lockheed is likely going to be awarded to the Sikorsky lockheed team. It’s a simpler design which works in the current armies hangar space without requiring new facilities be constructed.
