I just realized how big VMware is . I joined few month ago and now looking for a job . I can’t believe that such big company will be almost completely erased ! But it’s true .

You will be one of the first to let go, even if you are in the BUs that are retained. Across all BUs, even profitable BUs, there will be optimization and there will be layoffs.

Just started a job here three weeks ago. Such a cr---y situation to be in. Wish I wouldn't have accepted the offer in the first place.
Hock Tan only cares about profits, squeezing more work out of people and reducing sales and marketing expense. Good luck to you all!
We're so ineffective and inefficient
vmware shareholders should use the court systems to claw back overcompensation given to the BOD and management of all levels in light of how incompetent they have actually proven to be.
As everyone is about to learn, for a third time, acquiring companies only love us for our existing customers and revenue stream.
The company will be fine, and the brand will remain.
We're so ineffective and inefficient with our current headcount that we will have changed hands 3 times, and someone is still going to pull massive profits and increased cash flow out of the IP, with probably half the people.
They likely will sell the IP that doesn't 'fit' and relinquish the people with the IP they sell to reduce headcount by another third.
The 'company' will be fine for easily another 20 years.
Not completely erased. They will keep about 5,000 people perhaps?
