Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

More than the minimum flair

VP has too little to keep him busy. Told me that others are decorating their cubes with personal items, pictures, stickers, why not me? Seems very focused on SPS. Wants to see smiles and flair and personal photos on Yammer.

What the fu-k did I get myself into? Why did I come to this fu----g place?

What happened to conscious inclusion? I'm supposed to be able to be here without being harassed to do things that I don't enjoy or make me uncomfortable. Remember the whiny character in the training video who doesn't like football but felt her workplace was hostile because her co-workers were going to a pub to watch soccer, and she wasn't into soccer?

Lot a talk here. But it still comes down to blowing the boss' ego. Not performance. So much for the socially just, egalitarian utopia we announce to our ESG-conscious investors.

@4hyj+1hawffDZ If ridiculous, it's okay to share complaint here, where else? Yammer?
If not ridiculous this is a company in which "micro aggressions" drive policy. No such thing as "too sensitive", there's only "too insensitive." Manager should be publicly shamed. Escalate this.

If the man singles you out to boost his polls numbers, venting here is cool.

I agree that is ridiculous. However maybe you are being a little bit too sensitive about it ? It feels to me more of an "axe to grind" post ..... oh wait that is what this site is for .... never mind ....

Tell him you're just being consistent because you don't have pictures of your coworkers and office flair at home.

Seriously buy a couple picture frames with a family in them to display. Make sure your "family" is diverse too. Subtle subversion is funny.

Remember: next Friday is Hawaiian shirt day. So, you know, if you want to, go ahead and wear a Hawaiian shirt and jeans.

I encourage you to buy some picture frames and display them on your desk with the whatever family picture came with the frame.

"Now, you know it's up to you whether or not you want to just do the bare minimum. Or... well, like Brian, for example, has thirty seven pieces of flair, okay. And a terrific smile. "
