If the acquisition wasn't announced...

how much longer would you be staying at VMware?

2 more years, and only to vest my RSU. I joined last year in a management position and found VMware not to be as special as many people describes it. The "uniqueness" here is the irresponsible leadership, free spending, uncontrolled hiring, duplication (and triplication in some cases) of functions and resources, no measurement of work and results, low to no accountability, no clarity on decision making, etc.
Not the place to be for those that look to continuously growth their management skills.

I am at five years and in my third department. Starting to get bored so I want to move on by Q1. I am a bit sick and tired of useless BUs and half arsed products. Need a fresh challenge so I almost hope to be laid off to get my a-s in gear to move on.
