I'll be honest, it's a real challenge for me now to find a new job and that's the only reason I'm still here. It seems that the biggest danger of staying here for a long time is having your skills become obsolete? Of course, having up-to-date skills mostly depends on the employees themselves, but I think that Citrix nowadays is generally not a company where it is possible to stay for a long time without your skills eventually becoming obsolete.

Then it’s no point looking to better your life. Just stay in that sh---y job and keep getting sp-t on at Spitrix .
It’s the best you can do.
@ @OP+1ha44I6f, have you really started looking? A year ago, I had exactly the same viewpoint as you do, and then I got canned in the layoff last November. To my surprise, I had 3 offers in less than a month, 2 of them for more than I was making at sh!tr!x. I didn't like the first job that I took, so I quit after a couple months, and now I have a job that I love and (surprise!) brought yet another raise. The job market is so hot right now, that you don't have to be a perfect fit for a new position -- you just need some background and experience that shows you can learn and grow in a new role. Spend a weekend working on your LInkedIn profile and your resume, and see what happens. You might be surprised, too.
The first step to finding a better job is to move past denial that you have a problem. You've done that so that's a good start. Next, do an inventory of all the most current skills that you have to offer.
Also, remember that Citrix ELT is partly to blame for your job search challenge. They've enabled the negative vibe in the very competitive IT marketplace. So, try to distance yourself from that perception. Some recruiters may be empathetic to your situation. Good luck in your search. Stay positive, keep looking. You'll be okay.
