Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

When are they laying off?

Other retailers and non-retail businesses have started layoffs, either from over-estimating the post-pandemic rebound and/or inflation pushing consumers away from apparel.

When are layoffs coming for stores and corporate? Is there anyone left in John’s Creek?

My store hasn’t had a sign team in years. It’s merchandisers or receiving setting and taking down sales

Maybe it's not a layoff anymore, maybe it comes in the form of a store closure.

Usually layoffs starts before the new fiscal year, that's on January but with this company you never know it could happen at any month. With all this changes going on this year, Macy's plan is to reduce costs. In our store there's rumors that there will be no longer a signing team next year. Also cut most of the long tenured colleagues or full timers. Basically more part timers will be working at Macy's. Around August Macy's will start hiring seasonal colleagues because of all the renovations going on in our store.

I thought Toys R Us was going to solve all these problems.

They are hiring at my store and apparently more jobs in the fall. I think they will lay off people the usual time after Xmas in January.
