Are rumors about layoffs in August true?

Nielsen is no longer public..... Any updates on the layoffs?
Hey there! I'm new to the company (got hired a few months ago). How did you find out about these rumors? Not sure if I should be worried because they told me they are still hiring in Chicago. The way I see it... Hiring freezes first, then recruiters and HR are laid off, then Sales and finally engineering.
Company will get sold to elliot management on September 1.
If there are layoffs, won't the WARN Act give us 2 months of notice / 2 months worth severance?
company reached their 42000 panel target so less needs now
I'm not too worried, but it would be good to know in advance if true.
