Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Hard workers who know their stuff have nothing to worry about

Broadcom is not like the majority of companies that get rid of its best just to save a few bucks. The company and its leadership are smarter than that. If you're not at the top of your game, you should worry. If you are, they'll make sure to keep you and give you incentives to do even better.

Lol OP. Made me chuckle. A handful of people are essentially explaining Broadcom our business. You think anyone would stand out ? My own boss doesn’t know half the time what I am doing daily. BUs don’t talk to each other. And a few meetings between both companies is enough to product a list of 36k people sorted by who works the hardest ? Nice try.

OP: this is not a fair statement and misleading.

Are you saying the roughly 20,000 people that have been laid off by Broadcom in the last 4 years due to acquisition were not hard workers or valued?

OP: keep living in the fantasy world...

To the Rest: you're free to do what you want, just be prepared.

bottom line ...if you aren't working on super, super sticky tech where switching costs are high and you're already profitable, you'll be sold off or cut deeply. of course any overhead function is fu---d.

And yes, I've said this before and I'll say it again until people stop worrying and giving themselves high blood pressure for no reason.
