The worst mistake

Maybe I don't have enough knowledge about management, but I'm sure that one of the worst mistakes made by the current management is that they are more preoccupied with attracting new people instead of keeping those who are already here. It's not like they haven't realized by now that hardly anyone wants to apply to UP anymore because everyone knows that this place is a mess?

It is totally worth watching the worthless old timers walk and take their cr---y entitled attitudes with them for the chance that their replacement will be appreciative of the opportunity to work there.

I'm sure somewhere in their illogical thinking processes that they probably thought that new hires would spark a sense of calm with the rest of the employees that are left. Why should they care about the ones that are left? Oh that's right, because they thought they could just bring folks back from furlough or hire new ones. I guess they didn't really think about the possibility of very few coming back or people actually applying to work there. I hate to say it this but the management is going to own this mess.

NCCC COMPREHENSIVE PROPOSAL TO RAIL LABOR UNIONS

  1. SMART‐TD only: in the absence of agreement on a final and binding process to achieve changes

in train crew size and redeployment of conductors in PTC‐enabled territory, compensation will
be adjusted to the extent necessary to mitigate the economic impact of trains operating with
more personnel than would be assigned by the railroad based on operational needs

The company doesn't want to hire.
