About 30 people have been quietly laid off from KWRI in the past couple of months. Nothing compared to what’s happened at Keller Mortgage, but it’s been handled with the same amount of disrespect and cruelty. Many don’t even know that other people are being laid off and think they’re alone. Their doing it under the premise of “the shifting market,” but most people know it’s more about gross mismanagement and the expensive hires to go public that didn’t pay off. Anyone hear anything more?

Keller Williams Headquarters (KWRI) is a shiesty to say the least. The HQ began becoming toxic in mid 2019 when they fired their People Director and then Recruiting Director because they had disagreements with the CEO; this is about 2 months after the president of KWRI, John Davis, voluntarily stepped down (or was fired) after apparently disagreeing with CEO Gary Keller also. Things slowly got weird after that. Their top down micro-management practices has gotten worse over the years. They usually pay market average (sometimes less), and then overwork their employees by selling it to them as "autonomy" because of all the opportunities to grow and all the responsibilities you get with your role, and then the 4 to 5 managers to need to send reports to. KWRI sometimes has that "we're like a family" feel in the worst way.
KWRI has been doing layoffs since 2020 actually, but they would find reasons to fire people instead, or simply say 'we realized there's no longer a need for your role (so it's not a layoff if anyone ask, but here's a severance and some NDAs to sign so that we're all square)".
75% of marketing dept laid off today…along with other departments. Biggest event of year starts Mon. Everyone was blindsided when HR joined meetings set up by coworkers! Complete lack of professionalism; no details about any kind of severance
