Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

What has happened to marketing?

I have seen a couple of threads about marketing. So I want to share some field observations. No press releases or media coverage anymore. No new customer announcements. Universe canceled, even though SF recently proved that events still work. Instead, we get a series of small regional events we in the field don’t support. Our so-called new and improved website looks like junior high school students put it together. We no longer appear in google searches, but our competitors do. A failing product launch that nobody has confidence they can execute, let alone deliver a product. A CMO who cares more about self-promotion, politicking , and who hires her under-qualified BFFs: I think I have answered my question. That is what has happened to marketing

I guess the COE isn't all it's cracked up to be?

Isn’t that what Teradata is supposed to excel at?

All this new team is doing is rearranging the deck chairs, saying the same thing, and screwing up Universe. Ask yourself this, as a salesperson if all of Marketing was let go and you hired a firm to update Teradata.com periodically who would even notice. They have no new products so product marketing is not needed. The brand image will never change so that is a losing cause. And we call on so few companies the "Marketing Qualified Leads" we get should be called "Marketing Unqualified Junk." The competitive intelligence is BS. Only keep the team who tricks Gartner into giving us high rankings.

but the new agility and collaboration is starting to... oh, yeah, that's right... there's no such thing as agility and collaboration, unless you mean 42 people in every meeting.
