What was the process? I'm sorry if this seems insensitive right now, I'm just trying to determine what to expect in the future since we know more is coming. I'm mostly interested to know if your direct supervisor knew ahead of the time you were getting laid off. Were you able to tell? Was he/she just as surprised as you were? Thanks in advance.

Yes and no. Supervisor is asked for input whom he feels like to go. He has no control who will be in the list. Similarly his supervisor is asked and sometime he is in the list too lol.
