Thread regarding Meta / Facebook layoffs

Do you honestly think only the low performers will be affected?

That's incredibly naive if you ask me. Meta wants to cut costs. The easiest way to do that without disrupting work too much is to get rid of the people who earn more and replace them with new hires who earn less. Usually, those who earn the most have been here the longest and have the most experience. Sadly, when it comes to cost cuts, experience means little to nothing to a number cruncher. None of us are safe.

Yes, and in fact most FB employees are low performers, and weak tech workers, so yes most of you will be cut.

There is lot of bloat here. So many projects that I honestly can’t justify their cost. When Covid first happened, MZ canceled performance reviews and gave us all cash.. let’s face it we got cozy. We thought Facebook was invincible. MZ loves us too much. We are elite. Job loss is only for BLM that we are taught to pretend to care about. Now we face reality. Not virtual reality. Facebook has become just another pile of p-o like friendster, MySpace, yahoo, aol. We know deep down meta verse won’t pay off. MZ is robot and actual reality is bad for him. He wants to escape this world where he isn’t ugly af

Your performance is relative to your cost always. Working on same thing with higher cost makes your performance low.
