Its time to get back the best shop awards. Heard south morrill shop is opening back up. Can anyone confirm this. Had crew cleaning the building.

They aren’t opening the shop. The service track will be doing wheel trues at the shop but that’s it
Hope it's true for all my brothers still in the area and able to be called back, but I find it hard to believe after 4 years of being closed. I know on Night shift we where a close bunch of wrench turning brothers and I miss all you knuckle busters.

Having worked there, I can confirm that it is incredibly difficult to discern between the "mechanics" and the "cleaning crew". Both were primarily the same race, worked about as hard, and did about the same job at attempting to be clean. Really don't miss that greasy he-l ho-e. BTW, whatever happened to the "best shop" banner?
some Smaller service units that aren’t real shops will have a handful of employees jobs abolished and if they
can’t excercise seniority they’re options will be to re-locate! Guess where 2? That’s how so. Morrill will operate
The shop is gettin ready for contractors to move in. So in way you are correct.
By the shop opening up do you mean they’re going to open the doors and occasionally someone will work inside there on a locomotive with a severe shortage of tools and supplies let alone people? That’s the way things are at the “reopened” shop I work at.
