Thread regarding Saudi Aramco layoffs

Why Xmas / winter vacation holidays are not being allowed to expats anymore?

My supervisor doesn't approved my vacation because all unit is going also and I'm the only expat and with children.

Does Ebenezer Scrooge work in HR now? If so, I’m sure he will help.

I always said, the only difference between the Bangla office cleaners and GC16 engineers is the amount on the pay check. They are both treated as slaves by ARAMCO management and supervisors.

I was layoff one month before my schedule repat and they take back the payment, around 15000 USD, so my advice, split always your vacation, ask repat for your family and later only for you. IMO this was unfair and nobody in HR help me.

Screwing around with expat holidays was a game SA supervisors have been playing since the turn of the millennium.

One junior saudi boss called an expat employee on Christmas day while he was having lunch with his family in saudi but on vacation time. Spent the whole lunch hour of this expats family time asking stupid questions about how to use excel. Lol. Junior manager was terminated a few months later by senior managers. I think senior managers are observing junior ones. Most junior managers won't make it up to a certain point. They get kicked out of the pond too.

You are a well-paid and well cared for, modern day sl-ve.
Smile and make the most of it.

Get used to it. And welcome to Aramco.

Seen similar things with time denied for long held big occasions when expats families have come over. Or when the VP calls you to come back to the kingdom to do some task that he thinks important…

Remember, you’re owned by Aramco in their eyes. Try to negotiate but if you have a bad boss there isn’t much you can do….
