We're still hiring and I see so many of the new additions excited and eager to help and burying themselves into a ho-e they'll never manage to dig themselves out of. Take it from somebody who's been here a while. Citrix is not the type of company to reward helpful behavior. The more you volunteer to help with things, the more they'll become part of your regular work for no gain to you whatsoever. The requests for help will turn into orders to just do it, whether you have time for it or not. If you don't, it'll be considered your failing even if it was not originally a part of your duties. I'm not saying to never help, but don't volunteer and emphasize you're busy with your own work whenever you can. Otherwise, you're screwed.

BTW this is true of most companies. Doing more than expected is always rewarded with additional work.
Or you could learn how to cover your a-s, take notes in manager 1 on 1 meetings, then send your notes via email so there is written record. Write up the extra work in your performance reviews, too. If you are doing a good job plus extra work and they aren't rewarding you, call them out. You should always put your "extra work" as targets for promotion and keep written records.
