Thread regarding VMware layoffs

I used to trust management

I had faith in our management. Now it seems to me that everything they say can't be trusted at all. How much do you believe what the management says?

About as far as I could throw them.

Wait, I bet I could throw Raghu at least 5 feet, so I trust him 5%, maybe even 6% on a sunny and windy day.

Dont trust them but dont confuse it, they arent the villains.

Step off.
Lying is villany.
They want YOU to be honest. They should be honest in return.

Which management? C level? those are probably lying. Managers and lower level directors? They dont know much yet, they might get a vibe of what’s in store but they dont really know, they may be just as clueless as you are. If they werent? Theyd probably lie to you anyway. It’s their job, I wouldnt blame them. What do you want them to do, schedule a team meeting and tell everyone that their jobs are at risk? That would be their management career in the toilet, no one else will hire them again knowing they folded like that. Dont trust them but dont confuse it, they arent the villains.
