The first tranche of RSUs was early last year as well except 25% instead of 33%. So everything above is just speculation.

I wouldn't doubt that Broadcom and VMware finance departments have already estimated how much of that they will get back when the deal closes sometime between November and February.

That date wasnt selected blindly. There is a reason they cliff vest M/2023 no doubt about it.

Being given a heap of RSU's with a cliff of 33% in March 2023 is a good indication that I am on the list for March cuts :) Looks like they are using that as a small sweetener to keep some people until March and reduce mass exits before then
