Yet macys CEO wants you to come to work and " Be yourself" that of course means if your older than you will be soon shown the door.

Our previous, seasoned manager left recently for an elevated position at another company, the brand new store manager is a twenty-something from a different region who is horrible. The customer service scores are poor. The colleague attitudes are poor. We are hiring people with no personality and no motivation. The executive team is struggling. The new store manager refuses to cultivate engagement to improve the conditions of the store. To them, everyone is replaceable (their words). They don't care as long as their check is deposited on the 1st and the 15th. There is definitely something going on where ageism is THE factor
This is nothing new. Notice how they are hiring all these inexperienced young managers or promoting young associates that the senior executives like for no other reason than being young and being friendly with the seniors. We have had 2 associates in our store get promoted to managers just cuz some senior liked them and they are both horrible at their jobs. Have no clue what they are doing and are lazy to boot. Have no experience at Macys or know the policies. It is a train wreck and I see the downgrading of managers. I prefer experience because when they hire managers coming from other retail jobs who have experience, they are much better.
