Incoming CEO announced imminent layoffs. This is refreshing because such transparency allows employees to plan instead of rumors and uncertainty. Likely layoffs will hit FTL harder since CEO is SV-based and not thrilled about having to travel to FL HQ frequently. Severance would be nice, but post-layoffs FL job market will be flooded with former citrites. Difficult choices ahead

Mr.K means business. The way he ignored those D&I clowns lengthy BS that nobody cares about was priceless
I agree - I appreciate the transparency. It's what everyone was thinking and what everyone knows will happen. To tell people "You're fine" or "don't worry" is false. If you stay, you are staying with a full understanding of the huge risk and likelihood of job loss. Especially as risk is those who have been with the company 5+ years - like the last downsize and those that happen in a merger, the focus on employees who were high earners and in mid-career + status. It's never about skill set or contribution, it's 100% about reducing operating costs. If you are young and early in your career you have a good shot of staying because you don't cost a lot to keep and replacing you won't be cheaper. It's not personal. It's business. Get your ducks in a role.
Tibco got the same speech. The people on this board have some serious issues. Learn how the world works instead of rising and falling each day with thoughts that people are just out to get you.
Your girlfriend or boyfriend has given you the ultimatum. "Babe, i need to make changes it's not you, it's me. Please understand I'm not the same person as before and i need this a clean canvas." The response "babe, please don't be like this we can make it work we have each other".
He/she says "Listen ,I've already made up my mind. I already talked to my BFF "Tibco" and we agree it's time. You have until the EOY to make up your mind if you're willing to stay and witness my transition to greener pastures where there's no guarantee i'll want you anyway. Or if this isn't your cup of team then pack your bags and take your coat.
Sound close enough?
Does anyone know why these GEMs aren’t recorded anymore?
I’d bet he spends at least 188 days in Fort Lauderdale for taxes.
Exactly! It’s no longer a rumor that people can pretend isn’t real. They laid it all out. If you are not in Product Development or R&D, there will be overlaps and redundancies post acquisition. They’ll either keep you, lay you off immediately, or you’ll be on a transition plan.
So if you aren’t in those groups you have 3-4 months to figure out what you want to do
