Throughout my career, it's the ones who ki$$ up the management that gets ahead. Doesn't matter that they call in sick all the time or come in late, etc. These are the folks that hardly work - less than minimum. They just need to show up to those meaningless meetings.

Why work harder than you have to? You may run into the danger of finishing your work too quickly and end up with less hours or else work yourself out of a job if management thinks your job can be done with less hours. Just do the minimum. That's probably about how much they are paying you anyways.

Find out how much others are paid and you will probably slow down too assuming you don't get mad and quit.

Funny. This is nothing new. If you talk a good game, you get promoted. Those that bust it, get destroyed professionally or laid off.
