If you took the WFH option and noticed that some of your cohorts were only coming in 1 or 2 days a week (if not zero days), you may have decided to start doing the same thing and maybe not even tell your manager that you were; especially if your manager works at home all the time or at another office location.
If you are one of them, I would suggest letting your manager know ASAP what you have done as all of this has been recorded. Your "away time" on MS Teams when at home is also being looked at and recorded.
When the time comes they will have enough evidence to fire you instead of laying you off with a package or a retirement bridge offer, and that's what's coming soon to an Office Monday near you!
If you are supposed to be at the office Mondays , Tuesdays and Thursdays and you worked from home on most Thursdays without your manager's approval you are a truant and can be easily fired for it and will!
You probably deserve it

Will asset Performance be safe from the layoffs? Assuming we are protected as usual.
We will see. Seems like there are plenty of people looking for a reason to not work at Enbridge anymore anyway. The big E has never had an issue with laying people off whether they deserved it or not.
I agree. A lot of these roles have been deemed non-critical or in cases where they are critical have "advisors" and "specialists" trained and ready to take over.
