We're a month in and the situation in our store is abysmal. Employees are beyond frustrated and angry. Despite all of us being turned into "bots" that can be plugged in where needed, our customers are still complaining that the store is a mess, there is no staff to help on the floor, no stock (because we are overwhelmed with the workload and can barely cover the registers, let alone put out new goods and the tens of thousands of go-backs). It's bad. Really bad. What are we waiting for? Macy's has made a monumental mistake. Admit it and let's go to plan "B". Any plan "B" will be better than ISM.
When the "New" Coke came out and it was a flop, Coca Cola reversed course and went back to selling the "original" coke, and sales, which were tanking, turned around.
Again, WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR?????

To follow up with the last post, no matter how loyal and hardworking you are, along with having good attendance and a positive attitude, being goal-oriented and achieving goals, being team-oriented, etc., you still could be laid off. Macys picks who to layoff when that time comes. The poster is right - new workers should take note of these things.
Most "ISM's" work when workers have faith and believe in them. The faith and belief in a better future or better tomorrow. Loyal workers will do a lot with this in mind. However, in this reality, loyalty and careers are discouraged. Loyal workers are actively encouraged to leave or retire. New workers take note of these things. For those that work hard to support the "ISM", what is the benefit? That you might have a job for a few more years. There is nothing wrong or inherently unobtainable by ISM. The question is whether there is the interest and will to support this endeavor when the benefits to the workers are not clear. This is especially true when there are so many other opportunities available now.
I figured this might last a year at most before Macy's gets their head out of their. _+#. But the way things have gone, be lucky if we can get TO Q4, let alone thru Q4. Agree with situation OP posted, same here. I heard there's only one store in our district that's getting things done........supposedly because store manager has ignored ism. If true, too bad my store manager is young, in over their head and follows everything by the book......
To follow up with the last reply, some associates have a “special need “ to not have to close and when you find out what this need is, you realize the scheduling isn’t fair. These needs include - the bus doesn’t run that late, I have a really early class, and I can’t see in the dark.
All I know us now all i get are garbage shifts scheduled 4 nights out of 5. Time to find another job
In my store, the only difference with ISM is that the walk report looks different on paper. Nobody does anything different throughout the day and managers don’t want to deal with complaining and training.
Doesn’t this almost remind you of the mess with dollar general? Look it up if not familiar. Some stores have had to close because the few staff they had walked off due to the abuse and the stores are in shambles because of this type of staffing model. Just smaller scale
what are they waiting for? they waiting for you to quit so they can replace you with a woke millennial who doesn't care . they need to flush out all the old heads and get all the new ones in at a lesser price... by your post its working well for them lol
