Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

Mates if you are in engineering or technical support , you should run NOW, Now , NOW !!.

The new CEO from Broadcom is a butcher, and literally ki---d Symantec which was once a thriving company. If one wants to see the future, read the history of what someone has done before. You can check the below link. Get your resumes dusted and get out now, as the severance will be a pittance too. Symantec folks got 1 week severance for every 2 years served in the company.

  1. There are 0 engineering  support jobs listed in the US. Support will be outsourced very soon to 3rd party vendors like never before.
  1. All of the jobs with the title "Software Engineer" are all in India, and 1 or two in the US.

Symantec was acquired in 2019, and within 8 months all of this has happened. Definitely going to be interesting times ahead.

Citrix employees have been in this state for 6-8 months. After layoffs and then PE buyout it was done deal. Cost cutting and end of what we know as Citrix. Attrition has been over 40% and some teams over 100%. Yes entire teams left and new hires joined and left. Fireworks coming shortly in the next few weeks.

Sounds like you guys are experiencing what many of us at VMware have been experiencing now for almost 2 months: The realization that your company is about to be taken over by someone who came from a company with a long history of gutting the staff of the companies they acquire. Most of us have no doubt what will happen once the deal closes. Many of us have been applying for other jobs and have been doing so since the announcement was made.

Nothing is guaranteed. Every layoff is different and the new owners decide what it will be. You must be confusing the statement that benefits will not change until 2023 with severance. Severance is not a defined benefit.

The severance package doesn't change until 2023. If the layoffs are before then, you'll get the standard Citrix package people got in the last layoff.
