There will always be cuts at Citrix just as there will always be hiring. It's the natural cycle. More expensive employees are going to be replaced with cheaper ones. This will keep taking place gradually to make sure the work is still getting done (they can't lose all the experienced employees at once). If you accept this your life will be so much better. You won't try as hard and you won't worry as much.

Would be interesting how OP's view will change when he gets cut from wherever he works. It's normally the ones who takes on this casual attitude that will cry the most when laid off because people like him thinks it will never happen to them.
Wow. This has to be one of the least insightful posts here… and one that displays the US corporate brainwashing at it’s best. Just like humans fought hard to break away from serfdom as recently as a century ago, we cannot fall into a situation where we are ok with draconian labor laws and zero safety net. “Firings are the new normal” is like saying “the beatings will continue until moral improves”. Humans perform at their best when they feel safe and when the criteria for letting people go is transparent. About time employees get a seat at the decision making table and it isn’t left up to out of touch executives who lack understanding of what is going on and what is needed at the field level. For too long they prioritized the short term and ended up ki----g the goose that laid the golden eggs.
