Question on Severance

I know this was answered previously but could not find the info on the long list of topics.

Question to former CA and Symantec employees - What was the severance paid at layoff? Is it one week per year of service?

yeah we were acquired and i notice the date of service in workday vmw was acquisition, so the 3 years previous wont be counted, thats a pain, that3 years not 6, at 2 weeks a year thats barely a month, tax free i guess

The severance plan is the same as it is at VMWARE today. Once the deal closes if you’re laid off in the first year you will be paid under the VMWare plan. If 366 days after the deal closes you are fired under Broadcom, you get two weeks for every completed year of service (based on your VMWare date of hire), capped at 40 weeks severance.
