Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Some of you would cut off your nose to spite your face

I can understand you hating your job at Lowe's, I'm not a big fan either. However, it's a job that pays my bills, and being able to pay my bills is important to me. Wishing for the whole company to go out of business - something I see many of you do all the time - because you're not happy makes no sense. It would achieve what, exactly? You and many more people would lose their jobs and then what? I guess it's easier to hope something bad happens to the company instead of working to achieve some meaningful change.

Thought out post for sure. The folks complain to complain vs. bettering yourself and looking for new employment.

Cute, Marv. Is it true by the way that you’ve got Ferrari’s in 10 different colors?

Some of you would offer 10% of cleaning products to avoid giving out raises.

I don’t work at Lowes so I could not care less if they went out of business. Someone would take their place and the people would find other work. If you want to be a kiss-up, go right ahead, but don’t pretend like anything you say is actually of any value

in theory you are correct...wishing for the company to go under is a bad thing. I would respectfully disagree with your thoughts on ANY ONE of us being able to achieve meaningful change here. They do not value us as employees. Being a specialist i could easily sell less and divert customers to other competitors if i chose to be a jerk. And i could do it subtly enough where no body would know, suspect or prove it. It would be wrong of course and i would not do it but it does go to show how much impact we have. Imagine if just 1000 specialists did 10-15% less.....that adds up to a lot of lost sales/revenue. The real issue is we value them far more than they value us, and sadly that is not likely to change even if we did a work stoppage. It's a losing battle without a doubt.

The only CHANGE that is happening is Marvin putting all that CHANGE in his pockets and leaving us with nothing but crumbs. Burn Lowes Burn!
