So why does Macys Gas light their employees? fake customer complaints. leaving out money near register to see if you take it. security following you around store and watching where you go in the mall on your break. leaving items in stock room to see if you take it. fake phone calls from fake customers. they only promote the bad people who help with the gas also.. its the bad apples only win and the truth gets swept under the rug and micromanaging while the "managers" sit in the break room for 3-4 hrs a day. all gas lighting

Our managers including the store leader hides in their office most of the day. We are left to fend for ourselves. No point in paging them because they do not answer. They gave us their number to do overrides and so we give the customer whatever they want. Management wants to have no face time with the customer. This is a pathetic organization.
I'm also an executive at a small door and it's almost impossible to do basic things like run to the bathroom without being flagged by a customer or leave to hey food, with a colleague needing help with something. However I cannot say I haven't come across some captains or managers who actually do hide. We have a some in my store who turn off their phone during the busy day, will not come to the sales floor to handle customers either. This is the wrong profession for them.
You see there is your problem. You attack because you feel I'm defending the star, your employer that you cant stand working for. Stop pushing and venting your own issues and go get a job you will enjoy.

I am a manager at a small door, and it happens. A couple of years ago we had a manager who would go sit in the fitting room stall with Starbucks and be there for a good while. We’ve had managers he just stay in the office all day and don’t go on the floor, some who would not be seen the entire shift and no one had a clue where this person was going and or hiding it. Is it all managers know but this person I do believe because I have personally seen it happen myself as a bona fide salaried executive. One of the reasons I left. I won’t even go into the blatant favoritism that was shown to these executives. I can also attest to the profiling and being followed. I’ve had some colleagues over the years complain about that, heck it happened to me when I first got to my store. These are not lies, they do happen. It all stores, no. But this is not shocking to me because I’ve seen it happen. Oh, I just remembered another manager who lived a few minutes away from the store. That’s another person that would not be seen for hours, only to find out that personally go home then come back towards the end of the shift. Seriously people there are some horrible managers out there.

Most of the stores I’ve been in are understaffed and don’t have time for this. The Manager who commented is correct about barely having time to sit down or go to the bathroom. Some Store Managers I notice spend a decent amount of time in their office. Macys always had too many Conference Calls when I was still with them. Most of the people I see are just too busy. I’m seeing old faces from years past back in some locations it’s funny. Some are working part time others are Supervisors.
I think I’m pretty realistic in what I see, and I do see quite a few things that really make me shake my head about Macy’s BS and some of the bad managers I’ve experienced. However what you just described sounds beyond believable, almost paranoid 🤪🤪🤪 where you feel your always being watched, set up or followed. Who has time for any of that!?
Hmph... I'm a manager at Macy's and I'm lucky to get 5 minutes to go to the restroom. Sit in the Break room? You are out of your mind.

I don't think any of those things are true. I work in a busy Macy's and they don't have time to watch what you're doing. Are you in a smaller store?
