Walmart Walkout Saturday July 16, 2022

https://www.reddit.com/r/walmart/comments/vqhl6h/walmart_walkout/

Saturday July 16, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. calling on all hourly Associates in every store to participate in this walkout!
Please join us!

It's not a double-point day, and weekends are always busy.
Busy = More lost revenue = Bigger collective message
Also, 1:00 is before the 2 o' clock people go home, but in line with the afternoon shift arriving, so that's more people to participate.

So far we've got about 3 dozen people who have stated an interest in participating.
We're going to stand on the grassy strips near the entrance with signs in hand to flag down arriving Associates and customers alike, and go over the union election process with Associates.

We rallied in our ODP department at work yesterday, and we've decided to stage a walkout over increasing orders with no increase in pay, chronic lack of equipment, widespread chronic back pain, being treated like animals, the serious lack or real PTO and sick days, and the fact that all managers, including hourly Team Leads, still get an annual bonus, even though they took away our quarterly MyShare.

We're walking out because we deserve better, and we're not afraid to say it!

Did any one notice all the Union leaders that were at the stores to support the workers that wanted to walk out? Yeah, neither did I.
That's how unions work. You put your job on the line and they are not there for you until you start paying your dues and making them money.

Zippo. Nothing at my store. Too bad, I was hoping some of those lazy b-ms always in the break room or hiding in the rest room playing with their phones would go out there.

This ought to be interesting. The one store manager I spoke to said she’s hoping her top 3 trouble making associates do the walk out. Gives her a reason to start their transition out. She’s almost giddy about it.

The Union talks a big game but they tell you that not only do you have freedom of speech. They also dont tell you about freedom of consequences.

Uh. A union at Walmart will never happen. They have entire union busting teams.

The Lord himself couldn’t get a union in at Walmart. Give up.

“Every associate that takes part in the walk out, your voice will certainly be heard and recognized.”

I don’t doubt that for an instant. Just maybe not like you intended.

One thing for sure, if there’s a walk out on Saturday July 16, there’s going to be a lot of hiring going on the two weeks after that.

I honestly believe this: if you’re unhappy at Walmart because you feel your contributions are not compensated properly, you should do this walk out next Saturday. Walmart needs to realize that it’s diverse workforce has the strength to “Swim Upstream” as Sam said. Every associate that takes part in the walk out, your voice will certainly be heard and recognized.

Corporate is going to be all over this one. Don't let the paid trolls talk you out of it for a change!

Get their attention! Do it!!!

Yes, for sure. Let’s all just stop working at 1pm next Saturday and walk right the frick out. I’m with you. We all are with you! We need to do this. It will teach Walmart a lesson it will never forget. They will lose millions of dollars during the walk out. And then we’ll be in power.

This gotta be a joke... Y'all are one of the highest paid departments. There's other departments like Seasonal that makes less than y'all, and we're the ones doing back breaking work. Not to mention other departments having to come bail y'all out cause y'all stand around, and goof off. The raises should've went strictly across the board. If anyone needs a raise it's the whole gm side. We're pulled all throughout the store helping areas that make more than us. Let that sink in, before y'all cry about picks

How dramatic! Those union trolls will say and do anything to create chaos and discontent. And, all of it at your expense.

Yeah, go ahead. Do your walkout. Watch what happens.

You think those union trolls are going to step up to help you once your hours get changed or cut because you walked out in the middle of a work day? If you lose your benefits or your job, are they going to buy you gas and groceries and pay your bills?

Think about it. How could something like this be helpful in ensuring you get a full paycheck every two weeks.

For every action, there’s an equal and opposite reaction. Doing something this stupid is certainly going to solicit an equal and opposite reaction. You ready for that?
