I know people there 5 , 10 , 15 yrs . All still the same original role they started at. All working in I.T Operations / Maintenance . No wonder the rate of attrition is growing at a unprecedented rate when this how they treat their staff. Seems like a terrible business practice, how do you motivate , encourage, expect loyalty when obviously their not been appreciated. The best one I heard yet was do a internal leader ship course or something to that effect or would you be interested in moving side ways again . Surely management must understand this might work a a year at the most and then what ? Breed definitely a toxic culture . I personally see myself assisting with replacements that hired a greater grade over 2-3 years with less experience and in some instance compitence in area required to do the work or don't actual bring additional knowledge to the table , I understand everyone has to pass the interviews but it's like mgmt ain't working with the team to screen them . Which definitely sucks that you can see that you've been. Passed over multiple times and then have to train individuals up who already stated their not expecting to stay long than 2-3 years . Especially when they findout everyone else is stuck in the same position/role/grade longer with little future / career growth

It's very "good" US psych ops. Give team members joke titles, etc. they buy into the corporate propagand hook line and stinker, and pay em low with empty promises of bonuses bringing them up to simply an average salary. It's a "great" tactic used on the simps/yes men
Titles equal grades , grades = money
Forget the title just give grades and offer us the correct money based , competence , reviews and experience . Plain and simple . Offering titles willinilly only make some people place power in them. Tighten Managers/directors/vp/clevel and rest just grades no.s flatten the stack. Hired for a role , but only identify as grades .
Man o man--there are so many BS titles-directors, vps, senior xyz, etc.etc. all nonsense and YES !! for the young and the stupid, or the company cucks.
In my side of things Behavioral health. They want puppets. Nothing to do with offshore. It is also who you know. I have been there almost 17 years. I have some bogus leadership titles. They don’t value intelligence. They promote the young and gullible. Or people have been in the same leadership roles for years
The story was and is: a failure, a story about abuse, fraud, and waste. US empire/corporations
Those with IQs >75, do the bare minimum.
Raise a glass to corporate America . Keeping us all in jobs and keeping those career margins so tight , they end up eventually chocking themselves for a few extra dollars and a pat on the back from mgmt.
That’s the way it is in the audit department. One person promoted in eleven years. I’ve been in the same role for the eleven years but I stay because I have it so easy. Basically get paid for doing nothing. We are all managers, get an annual bonus and merit increase and why would we leave.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.
Most teammates know it's a dog and pony show to apply for a job within to get that "promotion". It's to tick a box. And many times foreigners-NOT US persons get that job because it's all about $ in the vile capitalistic empire
Again not a foreign issue . That would be a local government labour issue and business issue. Terrible labour law and business decisions.
Why are US citizens not protected and easily fungible by foreign labor?
Little racist now . The issue has nothing to do with location , and more to do with business model and opportunity. Blaming Philippines/India/Ireland etc... For managements decision's is not the way to go . I see plenty of US open reqs . I see plenty of Indian and Phillipines , not so much Ireland or other . But at the end of the day as the gentleman said stop looking for promotions just look for new roles , comfort in the same area doesn't push you to do better , only change does. Make the changes you require to move on . Whether that's in a new open reqs or a different company. Sc--w management they have an agenda and weak budget they must cradle so they look good. At the end of it all , rebranding strategy , re-orging , just hides the truth and kicks the can down the road. No change has been made yr in yr since I started and you'll hear plenty of managers give you the good old , hold on something good might be coming until it doesn't . Your just a tool the need to perform a task until it's automated or not useful or too expensive . It's very rarely you'll be seen as an asset if you where they'd properly take care of keeping us happy
They will not promote. They get an endless influx of eager beavers fresh outta Oogah Bugulah University , heavy in debt, and gulliable/impressionable. They will do practically anything to prove themselves and eat. That's the show. Theater. Now, let's all work hard and hope, dream, and somedaze the bosslady will notice all that loyality. Cue: hysterical laughter.
If there are US persons who can and will work, why is this US corporation hiring foreign labor? Where are the employment rights? Oh
If a persons wants a promotion would recommend leaving that place to get a real promotion with a real raise. good luck on the sinking ship
We don’t promote, we are required to apply for a higher position if there is an open req.
Once a req is open it must be posted. It’s up to the hiring manager on who will fill the role.
Exactly not the offshore fault at all .
That shouldn't even be a issue. Its the business model that this business has decided . If I heard hang in there anymore than I have at the town halls this year alone . Things are going to change . They will just rephrase, recan and slightly alter what their doing , finally polish the same tu-d and try and sell us the same story. Terrible culture , Terrible way of showing appreciation . I got a higher mark on my overall review less pay rise lol after the fact they said our Bravos would more than compensate. Sure 5 more reorgs for the big boys , a few lay offs and we all will toe the line
Understandable people can be happy in that role but that doesn't really answer question. As for off shore on shore. I can't comment I've found them to be equal. I would blame the business model more so than the offshore resources. Plus it is a enterprise follow the sun and all that . Easy to place blame and not focus on the problem. But I do think after 5, 10 yrs if your grade is not being raised and your common reviews speaks to the fact it should consistantly . Management better have a good reason not to promote you. Massive talent struggle happening . I suppose they know best our managers just don't have any real say in who does or doesnt get promoted . Their just yes men to the higher ups that make all the decisions to the business and obviously the staffing .
WHY are they even allowed to hire any foreign employees? Why aren't Americans/US persons chosen and hired and retained?! Oh....usa, usa. cesspool
Maybe read some of the posts on this site and see how and why they "promote" teammates. IF you want a real raise and real promote it is best to apply to another job. Because most "raises" are barely 1-2% because the US empire does NOT have real employment rights and protections like practically every other country.
Can't promote people if you are hiring people offshore at the fraction of the cost for those positions. Browsing the reqs today 11 offshore jobs for the help desk.... 10 for "desktop support" all for the Philippines plus managers too. Eventually they will have 3 times to techs offshore with 1/4 the IT talent of onshore IT people. Then they will do a mass layoff that seems like the plan. Subpar "techs" all of them. I'm always delayed to work with a tech that ACTAULLY KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING for IT help... Most of the competent ones are onshore. Offshore guys always ask someone to help them it's painful seriously
You know that some people are perfectly happy with what they're doing... Right?
In a previous career, I had a top level goal, reached it, then declined all further promotion because I was happy exactly where I was, and stayed there for almost 15years til they outsourced the whole department globally.
