I am very concerned about layoffs and hiring freezes in the industry in general and I have already submitted several applications. I'm not that picky either. Once I had to look for a job after I lost my job and it wasn’t a nice experience at all. I don't want that to happen to me again.

don't be too picky.. pick something decent enough first, then start looking for your ideal job that's how you do it.
I'm being extremely picky. No sense in lunging at the first available opportunity right now when there's still a lot out there.
Not very picky. As long as it is better than what I have now, it will be acceptable. Sh-t will hit the fan in November. All those thinking about that multi-month severance better have a starting offer in November. Otherwise, the severance will burn through. No REQs or interviewers in holiday season. The next opportunities will come only in Feb/March. That's a long time.
I'm being quite picky. Passed the AWS loop for L6 manager and they weren't quite able to meet my comp expectations, which I set kind of high because it's the first offer and the job sounds quite demanding. I plan to keep looking and while the recruiter lines up other potential teams who could offer that comp, I'll be hopefully getting interviews elsewhere. Don't want to hit the panic button and take the first thing that comes along, I have some time. I've been here for over 5 years and I want my next move to be meaningful, not just throwing myself overboard onto the first lifeboat that drifts by.
Turnover is high all over tech right now. Even poor performing companies will still hire to replace people, so don’t panic. Find a great job and move forward to what is next. You will be surprised how many companies are hiring right now. Good luck and don’t panic.
