I seem to be the only one here who doesn’t complain about micromanagement at Broadcom, since I previously worked at a company where micromanagement was even worse than here.
However, I have heard of some micromanagement incidents here that would be considered awful even at my previous company.

When Broadcom bought Symantec most 3/4 of the employees were gone within 18 months, including management. Symantec was very badly managed which is why is was circling to drain, basically from the Bluecoat aquisition.
The management left after the BCom takeover are the worst of the old Symantec of what Symantec had to offer and many of them where part of the problem there, indirectly contributing to the reason it was a prime target for BCom.
This residue, bad managers to start with, then adapted to the BCom culture to become even worse.
ICs are routinely managed out in small numbers. The first stage is to make it obvious what happening in order to encourage individuals to leave, including making it difficult to actually do your job. If you don't quit voluntarily then you'll be given the full treatment.
