Despite so many of you pivoting since the merger announcement and calling VMware a great place to work, some of us still know that's not true. VMware has toxic culture and environment that is driven by fear and characterized by finger-pointing. If Broadcom is going to change that for the better, then I'll welcome our new overlords. Just because something is new it doesn't have to be worse.

Not true.
vmware has a culture of incompetence, cost cutting, ignoring problems, replacing internal infrastructure with other, worse, infrastructure and promoting / listening to people who couldn't get jobs at the FAANG shops they so desparately want to reproduce.
sure there might be certain teams that are toxic, but OP is in for a reality check if they think vmw is anywhere near how bad amazon or even google now with their PIP quota
You most likely won’t be offered a job at Broadcom so you will never really know how had it really is. Consider not being offered a job a positive!
Broadcom isn't changing it for the better, you are just day dreaming! If you think VMW culture is bad you have no idea, just wait... Broadcom is 1000X worse.
What is the bad culture you are talking about? People think the company has a bad culture because there is cheesy people programs and equality initiatives? You dont even have to worry about those things, you arent forced to get involved with Pods etc, grow up. The core work culture, that is in relation to the actual work has nothing toxic in it. I havent been at the company awhile but I see people complaining about ridiculous things.
Be careful what you wish for. CA was far from the best employer, but it is Google compared to Broadcom.
I personally welcome not having twenty sales guys on an account to sell a product
