Has Qualcomm ever had massive layoffs just to bring in cheaper labor? I definitely saw this in 2018 - does anyone remover another time?

Yep, this is true- a hiring freeze is coming soon to Qualcomm.
Don't you worry, it's coming soon! Every company is hiring freezing now. Give me a reason why q not to do so. Nowadays cost-down is the first priority
Too many head count. 45000 employees around glove is too much. We need to freeze hiring. But lots of insane VPs want to hire more because of their own benefits. Someone in Qualcomm should monitor carefully whether the current headcount justify the business growth. I am sure we have so many fats in company. They have grown further during pandemic.
I do not see layoffs coming.
What are investors expecting them to do?
