It angers me that leadership is urging us to be patient and see what happens before we decide to quit. A little selfish, isn't it? Is leadership thinking that we are so foolish that we will wait until the last day to find out what will happen to our jobs after the acquisition?

They are being paid massive bonuses in order to deliver a reasonably intact body to Broadcom so that Hock&team can fleece said body, fire those deemed non-critical, and profit from the carcass. What about that is confusing?
Is it selfish though? It’s not like we have to do what they tell us. We are not indentured servants. We have three options really; quit now; wait and see what happens (stay or get fired); or quit after we are offered a job if it truly doesn’t align with our values.
What would you rather them say? "guys the ship is on fire jump now"? Best part about Hock so far is him coming out strong and saying that there would be layoffs and they don't believe in frills. If you are a director with one report, in a redundant position, in a BU not making money you probably should be looking for a new job long before this happens. Personally unless a golden egg comes at me I'll stick around.
Did the same thing happen when dell acquired VMWare?
