Optum has trained us to accept non-stop layoffs as a fact of life. A price of working, period. Well, I can tell you that there are many, many companies out there where layoffs are not considered normal and employees don't have to fear for their jobs every single day. We have really pushed the bar all the way to the bottom. This will continue as long as we're willing to accept it. I wish more people were as tired of this as I am so we could have a mass walkout. Maybe someday...

Any company of this size is going to have continuous layoffs and hiring, and the hiring will often be in a completely different place than the layoffs. Maybe there is a country where a company this big doesn't lay people off, but I don't know of one. I worked for a company of 80,000 employees and one of 140,000 in the past and they both did the same thing. UHG/Optum has over 300,000 employees...so, it's gonna happen.
just leave. life is very short. life is hard. don't waste time with corporate clowns, gate keepers, and brainwashed company MSM simps.
Share with others what companies have greener grass, and where they don't treat their employees like yesterday's newspaper once they are thru with them. Many would like to know where to take their efforts.
My best advice is to run. I dealt with OptumRx toxicity, scare tactics, and micromanagement grooming. I witnessed others being treated like recyclable trash. I lasted 3 years and ultimately found new work under the radar. Life does exist outside of never ending mandatory OT and excessive micromanagement.
Try this trick from a known CIO. Bring guys from Ford and Target and let them fail. So you are indispensable. And oh by the way inside company there is no competition because he got rid of those with the above Target and Ford honchos
This place is toxic... I just keep my head down, apply out to other companies. Life is better out of this he11 Ho1e
One of the primary reasons and left and boy is the grass greener out here!!! And no I won't share where I am as I did the work it took to get myself out. Nothing there will change and your destiny is up to you.
There's many countries whereby layoffs are unheard of.
