Saw it mentioned in other posts but I also heard that we are one of the first only many waves to come.
Also, some info for everyone after a meeting I had yesterday with a point person.
**read the packets they sent you IN FULL and write down any questions.
**the severance info in the packets are a little vague. And so were the answers I received. There will be a form that needs to be signed before your termination date. I can safely say we should probably read that in full as well.
**if you decide to apply internally - it was suggested in the call to “look at the pay grade” for comparable jobs suited for your pay now. I make $26/hr but if I apply and my skills match the “comparable” pay for that is $22/hr but they don’t tell me that until I’m offered the position, I’m screwed on severance bc I would for sure turn down the job. Point person suggested that we “tell them that you’re looking for X amount of money” however that doesn’t mean that the person that’s interviewing you knows what the pay is going to be. That may not be up to them. So I would tread very carefully on this one if you want your severance.
I talked to another coworker and she received the same info from someone she had a meeting with.
For the most part, the other info is basically easy to understand, but again, go through the packets and I highly suggest asking questions. At this point, question EVERYTHING.

I should clarify. The lady that did my call had the point person contact me to set up the meeting.
I just emailed the lady that did the original call. I’m sure she’s not just MY point person. Guessing she’s in charge of a bunch of cases? Idk
You have a point person? I have no person. I have an end date, and the basic termination paperwork. That's literally all I have. How do I get a point person?
