Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

ISM is just another experiment

We do not know if there was much planning and consideration behind the decision on integrated selling module, but my opinion is that this is another experiment that will not last long. How long do you give to ISM?

If it doesn't backfire immediately, I think they will realize it just doesn't work at least for the larger stores by Q4 and by next spring they'll be frantically trying to go back to old system. Of course by then I'm sure a lot of longtime experienced employees will have long left so will still be fun.

Not sure what store you are in when you speak of the young colleagues working. In our store the young colleagues who are hired do not want to do any physical work or get their hands dirty. They call off on most weekends, don’t want to work late nights, early mornings or any day that is not convenient for them. They need to take their mental health days off to recover.
The young managers hide in their offices and don’t bother to page or call them because they do not answer. I no longer wear my Theatro headphones because leadership does not respond when you call upon them for assistance.

I think the new program it depends your store level . It can work in a small door. But if you are a large door where expectations and strandards are high. It won’t work in a large door. The sales team in my store can’t even recover the floor or do fitting room. Imagine them do receipts

I think this new ISM will be in effect long enough for all the long tenured employees with benefits and vacation to quit. The stores will be full of earphone wearing associates who don’t lift their eyes off their phones. I have already seen it in my local store.

Well our store was part of the pilot program ( ISM ) in the spring of 2021. Most of the colleagues had to adapt to the new changes. At first we had issues but later in time the program was successful. Most of the colleagues left and didn't want to be part of this new changes. They got use to the same routine but eventually got replace by new colleagues in the Summer/Fall 2021. Those new young colleagues are still working in Macy's. They already got adapted to the ISM.
