Thread regarding Kohl's layoffs

Less than a skeleton crew

The people that I work with are always happy to help and work together as a team. We have the bare minimum which when we are busy can become quite hectic. Sometimes it can be satisfying but most of the time it’s not - especially when we have call outs. Our supervisor doesn’t even bother to find a replacement. He says that we can run the shift short-handed and seems quite happy to “save on payroll”. Is any other location like ours where your manager doesn’t want to call someone in just to save the company a few bucks?

One of the main factors in a manager's bonus is lowering payroll costs. It happens everywhere.
