Thread regarding VMware layoffs

I wish some of you would stop telling us to relax

This is a big deal. For the majority of us this could bring life-altering changes. It's normal to be nervous about it and it's normal to want to know more even if realistically we're aware that we won't have an answer for months. Enjoy your life in the following months if you can but please let the rest of us vent and ask questions. That's our way of dealing with this.

Everyone: no executives will be retained by Broadcom. All will be exited on the day the deal closes. Broadcom keeping a Diversity Chief is laughable. That person will also be cut as soon as they legally close the deal. Broadcom offers no frills HR. There is like one HR person per 500 employees, if even that, it may actually be closer to 1,000.

No executive wants to work for Broadcom. They can’t wait to get out and be done with the place.

Trust me, everyone that is let go will be happier than the few people that are retained.

Maybe its not just about the money. Its nice that for while it lasted VMware was a company that treated its employees decently. I've worked at companies where the only thing that ever mattered was quarterly profits and the employees seen as a number. Those companies in turn were never able to retain talent, their overall product became stale. I have zero interest in doing that again. I am out of here and if there are any others who think as I am- they should consider doing the same.

Perhaps you didn't notice that Broadcom is about hiring and retaining on merit and not all about your favorite social initiatives and their false narratives. There is nothing worse than a person who acts nice while they work their social agenda to force change to suit their beliefs. No Betsy is not really nice. And why in the world would Vijay hire on given what is happening. He is apparently no well informed.

"How soon will Betsy Sutter and her new DEI Chief get laid off. I hope that Vijay Pendakur is the first to go. "

And why would that be? Why would anyone wish anyone get laid off, especially when they just got the job? If some of these comments are from VMware employees then there are some nasty people working at VMware. Its hard for everyone. Betsy is a really nice person. Please be nice.

There are already threads with same / similar threads. Broadcomguy's thread has many answers, do read up those threads before pisting same questions over and over again. That's all and relax a bit - just kidding
